Barolo Hanover captures Dover feature

Dover, DE — Barolo Hanover scored an impressive 1:53.3 win in the $14,500 feature on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Dover Downs.

Barolo Hanover scored in 1:53.3 to win the Sunday feature.

Corey Braden sent Barolo Hanover up on the outside to engage front pacing Spin The Wheel A (Brandon Givens) on the backstretch. The two raced as a team around the final turn where Barolo Hanover took over for good to score a length victory over fast finishing PH Jackpot (Roger Plante). The Other Cheek (Tony Morgan) came on to finish third. Jake Ramsburg and trainer Colby Hubble own The Panderosa-Bunch Hanover gelding, now a career $135,324 winner.

Tony Morgan picked up his fourth winner of the night, guiding Simple Lease home in 1:54.3 for trainer Tim Crissman and owners Sam Jacobs and Crissman Stables. The Lease On Life-Simply Adorable gelding won the $25,000 4- & 5-year-old claiming allowance with a dead heat for second between Liteninstrikstwice (Tim Curtin) and Lady’s Lucky Sign (Brandon Givens).

Holy Moses out gamed Swingingwithashark in a stretch-long duel to score his second win of the year in a $20,000 Delaware claiming allowance. Mike Cole drove the Dragon Again-Mattintosh gelding for owner-trainer Johnny Waite and Rodney Mitchell Inc. Swingingwithashark (Corey Callahan) held on for second with Marty Tyme (Vic Kirby) the third finisher.

In addition to Tony Morgan’s four wins, Brandon Givens won three while Jim Morand and Ross Wolfenden had doubles.
