Campbellville, ON – A pair of C$35,000 Shes A Great Lady eliminations were contested on Friday evening featuring the sport’s top rookie pacing fillies.

Precocious Beauty and Beach Gal found the wire first to advance to the rich C$451,000 final next Saturday, August 31 – a part of the C$683,000 Metro Pace undercard.

After setting a stakes record in the Eternal Camnation last week, Precocious Beauty followed up that effort with another winning performance.

Driven by Doug McNair for his father, Gregg, Precocious Beauty made her way to the front past the quarter in :27.2 and led her seven rivals past the mid-way point in :55.3 and 1:23.4, before front-stepping her way home to win by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:52.1. Bahama Mama (Mark MacDonald) finished second with I Need Hotstuff (Tim Tetrick) third.

Trained by McNair’s father, Gregg, for owner/breeder James Avritt, Precocious Beauty increased her bankroll to $89,667. The daughter of Art Major now has a 3-2-0 record from five starts this season. She paid $3 to win.

Sent off at odds of 17-1, Beach Gal, driven by Scott Zeron, blasted off cover to take the final elimination in a sizzling 1:50.3.

The daughter of Somebeachsomewhere was in no hurry in the beginning as Ali Blue (Yannick Gingras) cleared to the front past the opening station in :27.1.

Ali Blue would continue to lead past the half in :54.3 and three-quarters in 1:23.3. Zeron was within striking range at that point, sitting third-over, 4-1/2 lengths off the leader.

Turning for home, Ali Blue was still the leader, but the backfield began to close. Zeron angled his charge off cover and the pacing miss exploded in deep stretch, using a :26.1 final frame to win by four lengths. Sudoku (Jim Morrill, Jr.) finished second with Gallie Bythe Beach (John Campbell) third.

Trained by Dave Menary for owners Ken Ewen, Hewvilla Farms, Denis Breton and Larry Menary, Beach Gal increased her bankroll to $38,570 along with a 2-0-1 record from three starts this season. She paid $37.10 to win.
