Big Business brings $295,000 on final day at Harrisburg

Harrisburg, PA — Larry Baron of Horsham, Pa., signed the sales slip for the Dragon Again gelding Big Business, who brought a price of $295,000 on Saturday (November 10), the final day of the Standardbred Mixed Sale in Harrisburg.

Big Business was hammered down for $295,000 on Saturday.

The brown gelding has earned $211,455 lifetime and has a mark of p,3,1:51f. At 2, he won a leg and the final of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes and was second in a Reynolds Stake division. This year, he won the Keystone Classic, was second in the Battle of Brandywine, and was on the board in four legs of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes.

He’s the only foal out of the No Nukes mare Tricky Business.

Francis Azur of Coroapolis, Pa., bought older pacing gelding Rock N Roll Star for $200,000.

At 2, the son of The Panderosa took his lifetime mark of 1:51.3 and won divisions of the International Stallion Stake and Bluegrass Stake, as well as two legs of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes. He finished second in the Standardbred and third in the Keystone Classic. This year, he has been racing in Preferred and Open events.

Perfect Union, a winner of over $700,000, brought a top bid of $155,000 from Marcel Lacaille, acting as agent.

The 4-year-old bay stallion by The Panderosa won a Bluegrass Stake division and was third in an elimination and the final of the Metro Stake at age 2.

At 3, he won a Bluegrass Stake split and was second in the Messenger, the final of the Progress Pace and the Oliver Wendell Holmes.

He is a half brother to 2006 O’Brien Award Older Pacing Mare of the Year Glowing Report.

Grey pacing colt Ruff Me Up was bid in at $110,000, and trainer Casie Coleman, acting as agent, signed for the horse.

The Steve Elliott trainee made $81,632 this year at age 3 and has a mark taken this year of 1:51.1. His wins include two legs of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes and a Reynolds Stake division, and he finished second in the Keystone Classic.

He’s a half brother to Ruffed Up p,5,1:49.2 ($650,089) and Fast Ruffles p,2,1:52 ($413,758).
