Bobby Quillen Memorial final draw complete

by Matt Sparacino, publicity director, Harrington Raceway

Harrington, DE — Foiled Again’s bid for a third Bobby Quillen Memorial title at Harrington Raceway just got a little tougher. The 9-year-old champion pacer drew post eight Tuesday afternoon in the seventh annual $223,500 Bobby Quillen Memorial final, to be held Monday (Sept. 16).

The Dragon Again gelding had an auspicious return to Delaware and registered his 71st career win in his elimination with a 1:49.4 score. Foiled Again (Yannick Gingras), the richest pacer of all-time with winnings in excess of $5.3 million, had his elimination win trumped only by his stablemate Clear Vision, who left flames over the Harrington half-mile with a track record-equaling 1:49.2 victory in his division.

Clear Vision (Brett Miller) will start from post three.

Clear Vision and Foiled Again will be joined by another Ron Burke trainee, Escape The News (post seven) in the final.

The Quillen will go postward as the 10th race on a 13-race program that will feature a $7,500 guaranteed Pick-4 pool beginning in race three.

Here’s a look at the draw for the Quillen field with final driver changes still pending until 12 noon on Wednesday.
