Breeders Crown bakers dozen means mare trot elims

Cranbury, NJ — 13 of North America’s top trotting mares forced two elims on Friday, August 24, to reach a field of 10 for the $250,000 (C$270,000) Breeders Crown Mare Trot final, one of four open events scheduled for Saturday, September 1, at Mohawk Raceway in Campbellville, Ontario.

The fields are loaded with past Breeders Crown champions, including defending mare trot champion Mystical Sunshine, 2006 sophomore Crown titlist Susie’s Magic, 2005 freshman Crown winner Passionate Glide and 2005 Mare Trot victress Peaceful Way.

Those seeking an inaugural coronation include Perretti Matchmaker Stakes winner Queen Serene, Armbro Flight winner Lavec Dream and Ms. Versatility winner Up Front Hotsey.

The two elimination fields are listed below.

Elimination winners may pick their post positions. The draw for post positions for all four Breeders Crown finals will take place live on TV after the Friday eliminations.
