Burning Point wins round one of the Overbid Series

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – March 12, 2004 – Burning Point [$9.20, $3.40, $3.00] held off the late charge of 1-2 favorite Carolina Sunshine [$2.40, $2.20] to win the seventh race, the $50,000 first round of the Overbid Series on Friday night at the Meadowlands.

Jennie Fanetta [$5.80] was three and a half lengths back in third.

Burning Point, driven by George Brennan and trained by Steve Elliott, took the lead at the quarter and drew away to a length and a half victory in 1:51.3.

The Dan Patch Award winner as Three-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year for 2003, Burning Point was making her second start of the year.

Owned by the Cuzzins Stable of Boca Raton, Florida, Burning Point now has career earnings of $910,663.

The Overbid Series for free for all pacing mares continues next Friday with a $100,000 estimated final on March 26.
