Drew Campbell had four winners on Tuesday at Plainridge.

Campbell, who was the leading driver in New England last season, made his first trip to the winner’s circle with Our Promises in the fourth race. After scoring a victory with Jason’s Jiffy in the sixth race, Drew then captured both ends of the late daily double. Campbell won with the trotter Awesome Glow in the tenth and with Roya’s Romeo in the finale. All four victories established seasonal marks for the respective winners.

Campbell nearly had a fifth win on the card, as he fell just a nose short with Sea Of Tranquility in the afternoon’s ninth race. In that event, the $7,000 weekly feature, Powerhouse Sahbra paced to the fastest mile of the season at Plainridge, winning the $20,000 claiming class in 1:53.2.

Driver Jason Bartlett took full advantage of the rail, yielding to the favored Best After Midnite and Classy Talker in the first turn, then quickly regaining the lead past the quarter-mile pole. From then on Powerhouse Sahbra led at every marker, finishing just a nose better than Sea Of Tranquility at the wire. Best After Midnite (Bob Sumner) was a half length back in third.

Powerhouse Sahbra is owned by Raymond Clukey of Waterville, Maine and is trained by Jamie Gerard.

In addition to Campbell’s grand slam, the victories for Our Promises and Awesome Glow comprised a training double for Dawn Anderson, who is always near the top of the Plainridge training standings.

Racing resumes at Plainridge Racecourse on Thursday afternoon and is highlighted by the final of the The Bunker Hill Trotting Series. Post time is 4:00 p.m.
