Camshaft Hanover made a bold move down the backstretch as an early battle between Laguna Beach and Oliver Cleo brought the field to the half in a brisk 53.4. He drifted into the three-path on the final turn, allowing Oliver Cleo to slip out from behind a tired Laguna Beach and briefly seize the lead. “He gets a little bumpy [gaited],” Brennan noted of Camshaft Hanover. “He’s got a couple of issues with his feet, but [trainer David Pinkney Jr.] took care of it. He was better than last week.
