Canyon Wind breezes to victory in 1:49.1

Canyon Wind [$6.80, $4.40, $3.20] battled first up around the backside and surged to the lead in the stretch to win by three and a quarter lengths in the featured seventh race, a $47,500 open pace, on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

Canyon Wind was an easy winner in a $47,500 open pace, on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

The five-year-old son of Cambest paced the mile in 1:49.1.

Live Out Loud [$6.60, $4.60] finished second and it was three and a half lengths back to JK Royalflush [$4.40] in third.

Driven by David Miller and trained by Steve Elliott, Canyon Wind scored his second straight victory and increased his lifetime earnings to $415,056 for owners the Schoor-Racing Stable of Colts Neck, New Jersey and Val D’Or Farms of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.
