Catskill Steve offers his picks for the $20,000 Pick-4 at Balmoral Park on Dec. 6, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Balmoral Park Pick-4, Races 10-13, Saturday, December 6, 2014

$1 play: 13/37/12/24 = $16

Analysis:

Race 10: (3) Account Rollover held well after being used hard from 10hole in race he needed. Moves inside in second local start and seems a bit under classified. (1/1A) Life Is Good Today/Big Brad the former tried to brush but couldn’t clear and was parked from post two while the latter made two moves to the top, set a quick pace and weakened late. Either could take it.

Race 11: (7) Ryleigh’s Lilly was shuffled to last off slow early pace, slipped out to a difficult third- over spot, finished with sharp :27.1 final panel in unlucky trip. Fast-closing mare should get a quick pace to close in a race full of leavers and figures to be charging late. (3) Always About Katey classy mare just failed to hold on last time but remains razor sharp and doesn’t need the lead to win.

Race 12: (1) Svaya Knows tipped wide off excess cover and finished full of pace from 8 hole. Two back, made a :54.1 middle half power brush to the lead over sloppy surface opening a clear lead only to tire down the lane. Gets the rail and could be hard to catch with better timed move. (2) Nancys Skyscape finds a good spot while in sharp form and can work out a trip.

Race 13: (2) Fox Valley Rebel takes a key drop in second start with lasix, finds a good spot and looks hard to beat. (4) Conzo was used hard battling for the lead on sub-freezing night and gave way past three quarters. Two back made a :27.1 second quarter brush to the top, also on sub-freezing night, and drew off as much the best against slightly weaker group. Gets key driver switch and is capable of giving top one a battle.

Good Luck!
