Analysis:

Race 7: (3) Some Heart Throb has raced gamely in fast miles since given a two-month freshening by the Wilfongs. Looks hard to beat on or near the top here. (2) Thunder Seelster continues to plummet down the class ladder and this spot may be the one that perks him up.

Race 8: I’ll go three deep in this one, with all choices coming out of same race. (8) Duneside Brat has raced well from tough posts and draws another one here. Left from nine-hole for early spot last time, made second move three wide at three-quarters and posted an easy win. (10) Volleyball Star also made two moves in same race and got outkicked by top one after going the uncovered route. For a price in here I’ll put in (6) Pownal Bay Shark who should go off at huge odds. Wasn’t close to top pair in last but did pace a sharp middle half in first start for barn that can improve them. May actually prefer the smaller ovals but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a better mile here.

Race 9: (2) Our Miss Lily took a lifetime mark against lesser two back in just second start of the year, then was bumped up to this level, paced a wicked :54.2 middle half but had too far to come and never got close, finishing the last three-quarters in a sizzling 1:22.2. Filly seems much improved as a 3-year-old, takes on older rivals and looks tough to beat from this spot at even money or less.

Race 10: (2) Specially Sporty has had tough overland trips in last two. Took a lifetime best at this level from similar spot back in June and figures to be charging late. (4) Heartland Liberty had steady rally from eight-hole against many of these including the No. 2 last time. Moves inside and may be ready to fire in third try for new barn. (8) Mortal Combat, a sharp 3-year-old, is in sharp form despite having 10-hole in three of his last four. Should be included.
