Yonkers Raceway Pick-5, Races 5-9, Tuesday, July 30, 2013

$.50 play: 358/346/2/23/567 = $27

Analysis:

Race 5: (3) Tasty Max ships in from Philadelphia where he’s had tough posts chasing faster. Gets an inside post returning to oval where he took his mark last year and should fit well at this level. (5) She Wears It Well showed improved speed from eight hole at Pocono last time and now switches to half-miler. Mare is 0 for 6 on the year but enjoyed a solid season in 2012 and could prove dangerous off that speed tightener. (8) Credit Limit is the sharpest in here and won at this distance two back; post only knock.

Race 6: (3) Babe’s I Scoot was a strong uncovered winner against a few of these last time. (4) Clem carved out a quick clip last time, battled top one’s challenge and gave way late, finishing easily second best. Moves into barn that does well off claims and is the one to catch once again. (6) Island Lexus has raced well in both Yonkers starts since shipping in from Delaware; finished behind top two last time but likes to win and is a threat to take all.

Race 7: (2) Auckland Flyer paced a :26.4 final quarter but was over matched in Canadian series last time. Returns to Yonkers where he raced well, including an uncovered 1:54.2 score back in April and finds a good spot to brush.

Race 8: (2) Munndutch had pace on both ends last time at Pocono after being used hard twice and not fading badly through 1:51.1 mile two back; gets Brennan and a good spot. (3) To Beach His Own had good pace finishing in local return after being ambitiously placed in Hempt Stake at Pocono prior. Has been a disappointment most of the year but should be in stalking position from this spot and will have to be put on the ticket off that last effort.

Race 9: (5) Hang Ten moves into powerful Burke stable off an even effort in fast paced mile. (6) Rocnrolwilneverdie comes off two good place finishes and seems to have developed a fondness for Yonkers; may be set to handle this level. (7) Ima Giggity Fool comes off a solid uncovered try and continues to race in sharp form.

Good luck.
