Classic Oaks champion Scully FBI heads up Wednesday’s Open Trot.

Scully FBI, named because of her owner’s fondness for characters on the X-Files TV program, rose to her greatest heights last November at Dover Downs. On that day, the daughter of SJ’s Photo defeated the top distaffs in North America, winning the $250,000 Classic Oaks Final. Scully FBI, the only female in the contest, will be reined by Hall of Fame driver Herve Filion in the week’s top trot.

Put Them On Hold, owned by Green Racing and driver Jim Morand, scored an inpressive 1:57.2 victory to win last week’s feature, holding off the fast charging Crystal Ball Stables’ Notorious Buck and Travis Bowman by half a length. Rich Crammer and Bobby Reeser’s So Striking finished third for Tim Curtin, beaten by only three-quarters of a length.

The hottest trotter on the grounds, Kevin Sizer and Brooks Stables’ Rose Run Casanova, steps up in class after winner four of his last five starts including a 1:57.4 victory last week.

Arden Homestead Stable and driver Jacquie Ingrassia’s veteran Goalfish leaves from the rail while another classy vet, Murray and Peter Goldberg’s Always On Guard, handled by Jim Marshall III, completes the strong lineup.

Another competitive field of seven tangle in the sub-featured $15,000 Winners Over Trot. Joe and JoAnn Thomson’s Crown Prince Gar (Jim Morand), a 1:57.1 winner last week, takes on Mark Lancaster and Massina Stables’ sharp Play Chip (Mark Gingrich), Tom Crouch’s Prank Player (Ross Wolfenden) and Ethen Seelster (Ricky Still), owned by Wayne Pryor and Doc & Me Inc.

Bob Harper and Bill Vandervort’s Ringside Leah drew the rail while Joel Kravet and Adele Prince’s Fifty Two Finn (Kevin Sizer), Ken Wood and Howard Perlmutter’s R Little Am Lo (Eddie Davis, Jr.), and Ethen Seelster (Ricky Still), owned by Wayne Pryor and Doc & Me, have upset credentials.

Monday through Thursday post time at Dover Downs is 4:30 p.m. No racing on Fridays with Saturday and Sunday starting times at 5:30 p.m. There is no charge for parking or admission. Reservations are suggested for the Winner’s Circle Restaurant. Call (302) 674-4600.
