Yonkers, NY — Crown Filling worked out a perfect pocket trip, then edged by the pace-setting Numberonefan to win Tuesday night’s (February 17) $7,000 trotting feature at Yonkers Raceway.
With Rick Farrington driving for owner Kevin (Cake Boy) Quinn and trainer Dennis Laterza, Crown Filling prevailed by a half length in a season’s best 2:021. Numberonefan held second, with the invading Paver Man (Jeff Gregory) winding up third.
Crown Filling, an eight-year-old daughter of Cumin, returned $7.60 for her second victory in six seasonal starts. The exacta paid $48.40, with the triple worth $289.00. The victress has now hit the board in all but one of her ’04 tries, including a win and a third in two efforts off the claim.
“Undoubtedly, one of the fine moments of my life,” Quinn said after greeting his fans in a jubilant winner’s circle.
