Pompano Beach, FL — For the second straight week Crystal Chris ($4.80) showed why she is currently the top mare on the grounds at the Isle Pompano Park, taking the $25,000 second leg of the Girls Night Out Pacing Series on Tuesday (April 21).

Crystal Chris and driver Tom Sells won the $25,000 second leg of the Girls Night Out Pacing Series in 1:53.2.

Driven by Tom Sells, Crystal Chris battled on the outside at the start of the featured sixth race against Atlantic Filly (Wally Hennessey), taking command after the opening quarter in :27.1.

Once settled on the lead, Crystal Chris cut the mile to the half in :57 and then the three-quarters in 1:24.4 as Golden Falcon N (David Ingraham) came first-over but could not catch up to the race leader.

On the final turn Hypnotize (Fern Paquet, Jr.) tried sweeping the field three-wide but to no avail as Crystal Chris cruised to the wire an easy winner by three-quarters of a length over Atlantic Filly with J Lo Hanover (Richard Simard) third in 1:53.2.

Owned and trained by Ned Simmons, Crystal Chris is a 5-year-old mare by Dragon Again and she will be the favorite next Tuesday, April 28, looking to make a clean sweep in the $40,000 final of the Girls Night Out Pacing Series.
