Dangerous Thing scores in California

from Cal-Expo Raceway

Sacramento, CA — The feature race at Cal-Expo on Friday (February 18) was the weekly Invitational Handicap Trot for a purse of $7,200.

Last week Rocky Stidham got his Conway Hall stud Dangerous Thing invited coming off a win in conditioned company racing for a purse of $4,000. He was called a “pretender” in that race. He raced credibly and finished third.

This week the Director of Racing, Fred Kuebler, assigned him post three in the five horse field. The wagering public sent him off at 8-1. Interview Hanover was sent off at 2–5 and Kash L’Argent, who won this race last week, was 9–5.

This week Dangerous Thing was a “contender” as he wired the field by a length in 1:57.4. Ed Hensley brought Interview Hanover first over and Kash L’Argent followed him, but Interview Hanover flattened out in deep stretch to finish third and Rick Plano could not get Kash L’Argent any closer than the aforementioned length and finished second.

Mike Brown owns the winner and Stidham also trains him. This was his third win in five starts this year.
