Dial Or Nodial starts down road to second NJSS title

Trenton, NJ — Dial Or Nodial, unbeaten in two career outings, starts down the road to his second championship title in the opening round of the New Jersey Sire Stakes Pari-Mutuel for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Saturday, August 9, at Freehold Raceway.

A total of 36 entrants, split into four nine-horse fields carded as races two, four, seven and nine, will meet in the $20,000 first leg divisions. Preliminary legs will also be contested on August 16 and September 13. The $85,000 final is on September 20.

Dial Or Nodial, bred and owned by Arlene and Jules Siegel, is a son of Western Ideal out of Smart Dialing. He has banked $104,000 in 2008.

In his second career start, the $175,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Final at the Meadowlands on July 10, the bay colt tossed in a :26.4 final quarter for a 4-1/4 length victory in 1:51.4.

Stallions represented in this event include seven sons each by Western Ideal, Red River Hanover and McArdle, five by Artiscape, four by Cam’s Card Shark, three by Life Sign, two by Artsplace and one by Matt’s Scooter.

The New Jersey Sire Stakes 2-year-old pacer records at Freehold are 1:54.1 for colts set by Genuwine (Cam’s Card Shark) in 2007 and 1:55.1 for geldings set by B Smart (Artiscape) in 2006.
