Divisional stars on display at Pompano

Pompano Beach, FL — Divisional supremacy will be on the line at Pompano Park on Friday (June 15), as seven female pacers will line up for the featured $15,500 Winners Over Handicap Pace, highlighted by a meeting between rivals Tintabella N and My Metallica.

Glenn Del Russo and Daryl Bier’s Tintabella N returns for the Friday feature after checking in fifth while competing with male rivals last weekend. Prior to that appearance, the daughter of Tinted Cloud had prevailed in seven of nine starts, finishing no worse than third during that span.

Installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite, Tintabella N has drawn post seven for the Friday feature and will be driven by Bier for trainer Gus Scarpias.

After spending last weekend on the sidelines, My Metallica will reappear on the female pacing scene this Friday for the ownership of Ciara Stable, Michael Polansky, and William Johnston III, and trainer Tom Harmer.

A winner two starts ago when putting an end to Tintabella N’s four-race winning streak, My Metallica was recently beaten a head by that rival on June 1, and has crossed the wire first or second in each of her last five outings.

The Illinois-bred daughter of Party At Artsplace has drawn post six and will be driven by Tom Sells.

With both Tintabella N and My Metallica absent from last week’s female pacing feature, the Pompano spotlight shone upon Montana Moonlite A, who did not disappoint when drawing clear for a convincing 6-3/4 length victory while stopping the timer in 1:53.3.

A winner in three of 10 starts this year, Montana Moonlite A has fallen victim to either Tintabella N or My Metallica on five occasions this year, including a third place performance two outings ago.

The Jacques Dupuis-trainee is listed as the 3-1 second choice in the morning line and will be driven from post five by John Kakaley.

Adding further intrigue to the Friday feature is Red White Blues, a 4-year-old daughter of Majestic Blue that has spent her 2007 campaign competing at the Meadowlands, and prevailed in six of 18 starts last season while racing exclusively in Illinois.

Red White Blues will make her Pompano debut from post four for the Fred Monteleone Stable LLC, and driver/trainer Bruce Ranger.
