Dolgins Guilty of Bookmaking-Related Charge

Clifford Dolgins, of New Rochelle, New York, the listed owner of approximately a dozen Standardbreds, plead guilty on October 20, 2004 to Attempted Enterprise Corruption, according to a release from Westchester County (NY) District Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

The guilty plea came in Westchester County court and was in connection with a sports betting ring that operated from locations in Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk Counties in New York. Dolgins will be sentenced on April 20, 2005. According to the release, Dolgins acted to maintain records on bettors, provide the bookmakers with betting information and reconcile figures.

Dolgins was licensed as an owner in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, though he has not raced any horses since the first half of 2004 and his racing licenses are all either suspended or expired.
