Dream-A-While captures Dover feature

Dover, DE — Dream-A-While scored an impressive 1:53.2 victory in the $32,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace on a cold, rainy Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Dover Downs.

Dream-A-While was a 1:53.2 winner in the Mares Open Handicap Pace.

Art Stafford, Jr. drove the 5-1 Dream Away 7-year-old into the lead on the backstretch and continued to pull away for a convincing 1:53.2 victory in the featured race. The win was the third of the new year for owners Delco Stable and trainer-driver Stafford. Ireneonthemove, with driver Corey Callahan, rolled down the passing lane to edge Nidya A and Ross Wolfenden for second place honors.

In the $25,000 Mares Winners Over Pace, Yada Yada Yada A splashed to a surprising 1:54.1 victory for Bill Dittmar, Steve Iaquinta, Ken Wood and Henry King. Ross Wolfenden drove the Armbro Operative 8-year-old to her first success of the new season, overtaking Mr Deli’s Filly and Corey Callahan in deep stretch. Bikini Bottom, steered by Eric Goodell, was third. Race favorite Touched By Ted (Tim Tetrick) had to settle for fourth, ending a two-race win streak.

Ozmopolitan made the winner’s circle in her second straight start as Tim Tetrick piloted a 1:54.1 triumph in a $24,000 Mares Winners Over Pace. Mike Casalino and trainer Dylan Davis own the Artsplace 4-year-old. Flirtwithedealer got up for second with Eric Goodell driving. Camturo and Tony Morgan finished third.
