DSBF prelims move to second leg at Dover Downs

Dover, DE — Three second leg Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) colt and gelding paces and two colt trots complete the preliminary rounds on the Sunday, Nov. 26 program at Dover Downs. First post is 5:30 p.m.

In the first $15,000 DSBF trot division, Tom O. Lail’s Secret Agent and Swissonian, owned by Fred and Layhoon Brunner, tangle again.

Last week Eddie Dennis drove Secret Agent to a nose victory, handing Swissonian, driven by David Miller, his first loss after three career wins. Karen Walls’ Mr Consistent, with Jim Morand, finished third in front of Outrageous, with Brad Hanners driving for Glenn Wenzel, Gary Price, Ricky Stamm and trainer Dan Mock. The Wiz Kids Stable’s Coalition Member and Rod Allen, from the rail, complete the field of five.

The other DSBF trot will be raced non-wagering before the first race. The four starters are Jim McAuliffe’s Noisey Aiden with Bobby Myers driving, Tui Shand’s Bobby O, reined by Tim Tetrick, Ken Boulden and the Art Stafford’s Olympic Soccer, with Art Stafford, Jr. up, and Powerful Committee, Tony Morgan driving, for Tina and Charles Clark and Cantwell Bridge Stable.

In one of the three pacing sections, Les Walls and Jack Upchurch’s Jesse’s Bad Boy drew the rail with Eddie Davis, Jr. in the bike after a 1:57.3 win last week. Peter George and trainer Trevor Warwick ‘s Mr Aviator seeks to bounce back from last week’s second. The $100,000 DSBF Final winner at Harrington saw a three-race win streak end. Main-A-Dieu, third last time, will have the services of driver Jim King.

The other starters are Boston Seelster, owned by Bob and Greg Laham, Tom Vine, and LeBlanc Racing, with Jim Morand in the bike, Carter Racing Stable’s Rusty’s Carma with Vic Kirby, Badlands Bandit, with Ron Pierce driving for Rodney Wyatt and trainer Jason Skinner, and making his first start in the prelims, GTY Stable’s BE Bad Bill with Ross Wolfenden, who prepped for the DSBF with a 1:56 overnight win last week.

Andiamo Subito, winner of the fastest prelim last week, heads another $15,000 division. The Carl Cocciolone and Bernie Horabik owned Badlands Hanover colt won for trainer-driver Brad Hanners in 1:55, his second win in a row and third in his last four outings. Orville Harmon’s Rets Lil Giant and Roger Plante leave from the rail. The gelding has been close in all his seven lifetime starts, winning three, with two seconds and a third. Mountain Air will be driven by Herve Filion. Third last week from post seven, the gelding drew post three for Siletto, Burgaretta, Benedetti and trainer Syl King.

Tony Cotroneo’s Get Out Of Tune, with Eddie Davis, Jr., Rodney Wyatt’s Paul The Powerful, reined by Jim Morand, trainer Tony Domino’s Tattle Toy with Tim Tetrick and Richard Belisle’s Mister Badlands and Jim King are the other starters.

The other DSBF division is wide open. Pam Wagner’s Allamerican Reason and driver Ross Wolfenden finished second in a last week prelim. Russ and Elaine MacKinnon’s homebred Fourchu, with D. Mark King finished third last time. Sun Power, owned by John Heckler, Randall Stafford, and driver Ben Stafford, Jr., and trainer Garnet O’Marrow’s Seboomook Peakaboo, with Rick Murphy at the controls, were fourth last time out.

The other contestants are Three Point Acres’ CC’s Solo Mon and Tim Tetrick and Gene Hubler’s Deadwood City with Jim King.

Next Flight (Jim Morand), Carter Racing and trainer Bobby Myers’ Victor Vuitton N, Elmer Fannin’s Philosopher King (George Dennis) and Dreamfair Titan (Tim Tetrick) are among eight starters in a $20,000 Winners Over pace, topping the regular program.
