Harrington, DE — Three $15,000 divisions of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes for 2-year-old trotters were contested on Sunday (Oct. 8) at Harrington Raceway.

There were two filly divisions and one for colts. Fred Brunner and Layhoon Brunner’s Swissonian won the colt division in 2:05. Driven by Tony Morgan for trainer Josh Green, Swissonian set all the fractions in his triumph in his first lifetime start.

Meanwhile on the filly side, Mark Akins and Florence Magliochetti’s Shelbster (Ross Wolfenden, 2:05.3) and Mist Stable’s Twilight Mist (Jim Thompson, 2:05.1) each won their divisions.

All three DSBF winners were sired by CR Commando.

The same horses are eligible to return for the second leg next week, while the $100,000 finals will be contested October 25.

With just 14 days left in the summer/fall meet, Josh Green (31 wins) maintains a slim lead in the trainer standings over Chuck Crissman (30).

Tony Morgan has an insurmountable lead in the driver standings with 137 victories.
