Eleven 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers have been entered for the $500,000 Hoosier Cup Saturday, June 30. The race will be contested as the 11th on the 17-race card with an estimated post time of 10:10 p.m. EDT.

Headlining the list of entrants for the race is Takeshigemichi, who comes to Indiana fresh off a victory in the Cleveland Classic at Northfield Park. The son of The Panderosa won the event by more than five lengths in a time of 1:52.2. Takeshigemichi will start from post 10, which is a second tier starting position. He now has two wins on the season in five outings with a career best time of 1:50 taken at Pocono Downs.

Joining Takeshigemichi in the quest for the Hoosier Cup title will be the George Teague-trained entry of Mr Apples and Mattdultery. Mr Apples won his last start at Vernon Downs in New York Sires Stakes action in a time of 1:54.2. The son of Bettor’s Delight will make his third start of the year from post seven.

Mattdultery will be looking for his first win of 2007. The Real Desire colt has not raced since his start in the North America Cup eliminations where he finished fifth. Mattdultery will start from post two.

The field for the 2007 Hoosier Cup will go one dash. The horses, in post position order, include: Downtown Showdown, Mattdultery, Artriverderci, Spin Rate, Big Al’s Delight, Next Adventure, Mr Apples, Kinetic Yankee, Tufsun Beach, Takeshigemichi, and Watta Hotshot. There are two entries in the race. The Jack Franklin-trained entry of Next Adventure and Tufsun Beach will join the Teague trained entry in the race.
