Eric Goodell wins number 3,000

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Eric Goodell, who has been one of the hottest drivers at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs during the 2007 harness racing season, collected his 3,000th win on Tuesday afternoon (October 2).

Eric Goodell is joined by Pocono Downs’ Jim Beviglia after winning his 3,000th race.

The 3,000th victory came with Jack Q in a $12,500 claiming pace. Jack Q, trained by Ross Croghan, tripped the timer in 1:53.

Goodell, a native of Michigan, collected five wins on Tuesday afternoon, bringing his win total at the Northeastern Pennsylvania racetrack to 121. He’s the third leading driver here behind Tim Tetrick’s 142 wins and Mike Simons’ 139.

Over the past five racing days at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Goodell has picked up 22 wins, including a season high six victories on September 22.
