Wilkes-Barre, PA — Fancy Filly, who is one of the top 2-year-old pacing fillies in North America, will be appearing Wednesday (July 8) on the second day of Grand Circuit Week at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

Jim Morrill, Jr., the track’s leading driver, will be in the sulky with Fancy Filly, a Western Hanover filly coming off a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes win at the Meadows with a time of 1:55.1. She paced the last quarter in :27.2 with Brian Sears in the bike.

The time was the second fastest for a 2-year-old pacing filly on a five-eighths-mile oval in 2009, second only to Dancinwiththestarz, who set a national mark of 1:55 in her division of the recently-run Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at the Meadows.

George Teague, Jr. is the trainer of Fancy Filly, who also had two straight wins at the Meadowlands in 2-year-old filly races with times of 1:55.4 and 1:58 in her first two outings on a racetrack.

She’ll be leaving from the three post in race 15 of the 15-race card on Wednesday night.

Brian Sears, who drove Fancy Filly to that sire stakes win at the Meadows, said she’s the real deal with the whole package.

Each of the six W.N. Reynolds Memorial Stake divisions will carry purses of $25,000. There will also be two divisions for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings.

Grand Circuit Week at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs gets underway Tuesday night (July 7).
