Fear The Dragon remains in top spot in Poll

Freehold, NJ — Fear The Dragon solidified his hold on the No. 1 spot in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll thanks to his win in last weekend’s Max C. Hempt Memorial for 3-year-old male pacers. Fear The Dragon added 11 first-place votes to his tally, pushing his total to 28.
Lady Shadow and Hannelore Hanover, both idle, were next in the rankings, and the only other horses to receive first-place votes. Ariana G and Crazy Wow completed the top five.
Ben Franklin winner Keystone Velocity and Earl Beal Jr. Memorial winner Devious Man joined the rankings at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The U.S. Harness Writers Association votes in December on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
