Pompano Beach, FL — Flo Found George, Golden Falcon N, and Hypnotize, all separated by a neck in their last encounter, return for the Friday (March 23) feature at Pompano Park, a $10,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace.

Owned by the Booff Stable and Steve Goldberg of Glen Ridge, N.J., Flo Found George won for the first time this year when taking the Mares Open Handicap on March 16 in a tight win photo, prevailing by a head in 1:53.2.

That victory marked the first trip to the winner’s circle this year for the stakes winning daughter of Dream Away, who won seven of 14 starts in 2006, highlighted by victories in the $113,423 Simcoe Stakes for 3-year-old fillies and the $67,500 Fan Hanover Stakes Consolation, both at Mohawk Racetrack.

Flo Found George is listed as the 3-1 second choice in the morning line and will start from post seven with Andy Santeramo scheduled to drive.

Five-time seasonal winner Hypnotize starts from post six in the Friday feature for the ownership of Louis Diffenback, William Mack, Jr., Lisa Diffenback, and Jim Mattison, who also trains the mare.

Hypnotize came up on the third place end of a three-horse win photo in her last outing, but was a powerful winner two starts back when prevailing by 4-1/2 lengths in a lifetime best 1:52.2 on March 2.

The daughter of Artiscape is looking for her sixth victory of the year and has been installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite for the Friday feature. Regular pilot Joe Pavia, Jr. will be at the controls.

Golden Falcon N nearly pulled a 37-1 shocker when missing by a head to Flo Found George in her last start. The 8-year-old daughter of Falcon Seelster has finished no worse than second in each of her last four appearances, and was a winner just two starts ago when taking a winners over event in 1:54.1.

Owned by the Berry Stables of Staten Island, N.Y., Golden Falcon N will be driven from post three on Friday by Daryl Bier, for trainer Paul Bernardo.

Maresey Doats, who crossed the wire fourth in last week’s Mares Open Handicap and has twice missed by a neck at this level, will also return for the Friday feature.

The 5-year-old daughter of Towner’s Creek will start from post five for the White Creek Stable of Dublin, Ohio, trainer Dan Hennessey, and driver Wally Hennessey.

Rounding out the field for Friday’s Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace is Townline Lily, an 11-time winner in 2006 with over $280,000 in career earnings; Wilma Hall, winner of the Mares Open Handicap on January 5 in a lifetime best 1:53.1; and Cape Cove Daisy, who exits a victory in 1:55.2.

2-year-old stakes winner makes sophomore debut

The 3-year-old pacing filly Bet Me makes her first start of the season in Friday’s sixth race at Pompano Park.

Owned by Blue Chip Partners, Steven Held, and Dijo Racing Inc., and trained by Gerry Nelson, the daughter of Bettor’s Delight closed out her juvenile campaign with a victory in a $60,988 division of the New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers at Monticello Raceway on September 6.

Bet Me has drawn post nine for her sophomore debut and will be driven by Joe Pavia, Jr.

Former Mack Lobell winner returns Friday morning

The Argentinean-bred Chucaro Ahijuna, a double-gaited 10-year-old son of Noble Master that has won races during his career as both a pacer and a trotter, returns to the track on Friday for the first time this year during a trotting qualifier at Pompano Park.

Chucaro Ahijuna made his last start at Tioga Downs on August 26 of last year when he prevailed by 5-1/2 lengths in a non-winners trot, covering the mile in 1:57.2.

The Paul Bernardo trainee holds a lifetime trotting mark of 1:53.3, set in the final of the $80,000 Mack Lobell Trotting Series in 2005. His career best pacing mile of 1:51.4 came in February of 2003 at Pompano, one week after competing in the Isle of Capri Pacing Series.

His combined double-gaited clocking of 3:45.2 is a world record.

More stakes winners scheduled to qualify

Glowing Report, the 2006 O’Brien Award winner for Older Pacing Mare and a career earner of $1.9 million, makes her first appearance of the year during qualifiers at Pompano Park on Friday morning.

The daughter of Artsplace banked $569,268 last year with nine victories, including a lifetime best mile in 1:49.2 when taking a $50,000 Filly and Mare Open Pace at the Meadowlands in July.

Also scheduled to qualify on Friday morning is Corleone Kosmos, the third place finisher in last year’s $800,000 Breeders Crown Open Trot at the Meadowlands, and Perfect Union, a winner of $466,559 in 2006 with victories in a $126,000 Bluegrass Stakes division and a $50,000 Meadowlands Pace elimination.
