Field of ten to go postward in Dan Patch Invitational

Anderson, IND. (April 27, 2005) – A field of ten horses will go to post Saturday, April 30 in the 12th edition of the Dan Patch Invitational Pace.

The $200,000 event is slated as the ninth race on the 14-race program with an estimated post time of 9:41 p.m. EST.

He Wants It All from the Tom Harmer barn is the early morning line favorite at odds of 3-1.

He Wants It All from the Tom Harmer barn has been selected as the early morning line choice at odds of 3-1. The five-year-old son of The Big Dog has drawn post position three. He comes into the event with five wins in ten outings for the 2005 racing season. Tony Morgan, winner of more than 9,300 career races, will drive He Wants It All.

The second choice on the morning line is Canyon Wind, who ventures to Indiana on a three-race winning streak from The Meadowlands. Trained by Steve Elliott, the five-year-old Cambest horse is set at odds of 4-1 for driver David Miller. The duo will start from post position eight.

Maltese Artist drew post position nine, which is the extreme outside post.

As a result, the four-year-old Artiscape gelding is the third choice on the morning line at odds of 9-2. Ron Pierce will come to Hoosier Park to drive Maltese Artist for trainer Michael Burke.

The field for the Dan Patch Invitational with drivers and odds in post position order is as follows: Johnny Be Cool N (Tim Tetrick) 20-1, Whosurboy (Ricky Macomber Jr.) 9-1, He Wants It All (Tony Morgan) 3-1, Admiral’s Express (Brad Kramer) 6-1, Escape The Wind (Roger Mayotte) 15-1, Casimir Camotion (Patrick LaChance) 5-1, Eaton Road Kill (Daniel Dube) 8-1, Canyon Wind (David Miller) 4-1, Maltese Artist (Ron Pierce) 9-2, and Life Source (Ryan Anderson) 7-1.

Gates will open early at 5 p.m. for Dan Patch Night. The first 1,500 fans age 18 and over will receive a Dan Patch Bobblehead and Derek Daly, television racing analyst and former Indy car driver, will make a special guest appearance. Also, the Indy Racing Tech and Indy Pit Stop Challenge will be available for fans with interactive games and information. Several giveaways will be included throughout the night, including a pair of tickets to the Indy 500 and a John Deere tractor courtesy of Smith Implements in Greenfield, Ind.
