HAMBURG, N.Y.—New York Sire Stakes action at Buffalo Raceway on Saturday, July 23, will serve up a feast of juveniles by first-crop sires. The first outing for 2-year-old pacing fillies will feature eight divisions and $132,976 in purses.

Little Brown Jug champion Bettor’s Delight will have the strongest showing of the new stallions by siring 15 of the 62 starters—nearly 25 percent of the horses entered. His offspring are led by My True Delight, who was timed in 1:56.1 (last quarter :28.3) finishing third in a Reynolds Stakes division at Pocono Downs.

My True Delight is owned by Burton and Sally Ginther and Larry Lanpher. Judy Lanpher trains the filly who has earned $4,625 in two career starts.

The richest filly on the card is also by Bettor’s Delight. Seafood Express, owned by the Seafood Delight Stable of Connecticut, has five starts to her credit, one victory in 1:58.2, and $10,785.

Three other first-crop sires are also prominent on the card: Noble Ability, Space Shuttle and Lislea.

Parapanalia is one of four starters by Noble Ability, who earned $1.75 million on the track. Both the filly and her sire are owned by Bob Glazer’s Peter Pan Stables. Parapanalia has shown the most speed of her peers on Saturday, timed twice under 1:57. In her only pari-mutuel start, she was timed in 1:56.3 at the Meadowlands. She will start from post two in the fourth race.

Space Shuttle, a New York Sire Stakes Champion and top free-for-aller, will have five fillies on the card. Charles and Giorgan Iannazzo’s starter Bambina’s Sorella will be among them. She is trained by John Berger and won a Landmark Stakes at Historic Track in 2:01.3. She will start at Buffalo from post seven in the 12th race.

Stallion Lislea will have two starters, including Lislea Bella leaving from the rail in the second race. Trained by Gaetan Brunet, the filly is a homebred for Yonkers Raceway owner Timothy Rooney, who also owns and campaigned the stallion. From a crop of just 22 registered foals, 14 have already made the races and six are winners.

New York Sire Stakes will be races two, four, five, seven, nine, 10, 12 and 13 on the 14-race card. Buffalo Raceway will have a special 7:15 post time to accommodate the large program.
