Flawless Bluestone & Ticket to Glide win NJSS trots

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Flawless Bluestone, after two narrow losses, reached the winner’s circle, and Ticket to Glide extended her winning streak to three in a pair of divisions of the New Jersey Sires Stakes for three-year-old trotting fillies on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.

Flawless Bluestone scored a length victory over Jalopy in a lifetime best of 1:56 in the $32,650 first division.

Flawless Bluestone [$6.40, $5.00, $2.20] scored a length victory over Jalopy [$23.20, $3.60] in a lifetime best of 1:56 in the $32,650 first division, carded as the second race. It was two and three-quarter lengths to Her Culese [$2.10] in third.

David Miller guided Flawless Bluestone to her first win in four starts this year. The Donerail filly had been second by a nose and a neck in her last two outings. The Joe Holloway trainee races for Bluestone Farms LLC of Hopewell, New Jersey

Ticket to Glide [$4.60, $2.80, $3.00] extended her winning streak to three with a three-quarter length tally over Teola [$17.20, $9.80] in the $32,050 second division, the third race. Ticket to Glide’s entrymate, Soutaine Hanover, was two lengths back in third.

A daughter of Yankee Glide, Ticket to Glide was driven by Cat Manzi and is trained by Brett Pelling. She trotted her mile in 1:56.2.

Paul Kinnear of Staten Island, New York and Douglas Hutchins of Lyman, Maine own Ticket to Glide.

The $175,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Finals for three-year-old trotters, both the colts and fillies divisions, are slated for Thursday, June 23 at the Meadowlands.
