Foiled Again will attempt to register his third straight win in the Quillen final.

Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi and JJK Stable’s Foiled Again (8-5, Yannick Gingras) will attempt to register his third straight win in the Quillen final after recently surpassing Gallo Blue Chip to become North American harness racing’s richest pacer of all-time with a win in the $794,870 Canadian Pacing Derby at Mohawk Racetrack. Foiled Again, a winner of nearly $4.4 million lifetime, also holds the Harrington all-time track record, with a time of 1:50.1 from the 2010 Quillen. Trained by Ron Burke, Foiled Again will start from post two.

Racing’s earnings champ will not have an easy road to victory, however, as the horse he narrowly beat in the Canadian Pacing Derby, Betterthancheddar (9-5, George Brennan) will start from the rail for owners Steve Calhoun and the West Wins Stable. The Casie Coleman trainee has been dominant at times this year, recently having a five-race win streak snapped. He has not been worse than second in his 10 starts this year.

We Will See (2-1, Ron Pierce) is among the compact Quillen field. The winner of nearly $2.5 million lifetime has had some epic battles with Betterthancheddar this season. The 5-year-old Western Hanover stallion was second to Betterthancheddar in the Ben Franklin at Pocono Downs on June 30 after outlasting that rival to win the Mohawk Gold Cup on June 16. We Will See drew post four for trainer Sam DePinto.

Locally stabled Feel Like A Fool (5-1, Montrell Teague) will try to play the role of spoiler for trainer George Teague. The hard-hitting 4-year-old has been competitive with upper level conditioned pacers all season and will start from post three for owners Jerry Kovach, Ted Gewertz, Robert Feldman and George Teague.

Completing the field is Francis Azur’s Flipper J (5-1, David Miller). The 4-year-old Art Major stallion is fresh off a track record setting performance at Tioga Downs on Sept. 3 for trainer Kevin McDermott. He will start from post five.

The race is named in honor of the late Bobby Quillen, who was a long time Delaware legislator that was a popular member of the local community and always looked out for horsemen’s rights. A regular attendee at Harrington, he also served on the Board of Directors at Harrington Raceway and the Delaware State Fair.
