Foley Hall goes for fourth straight win

by Steve Wolf, Senior Director of Marketing, Pompano Park

Pompano Beach, FL — Foley Hall, who has gone from rags to riches since being claimed for $10,000 by Richard Annunziata of Mahopac, New York one month ago, goes for his fourth straight win at Pompano Park on Wednesday.

The eight-year-old gelding, who had just two wins in 2004, has ripped off three straight impressive victories and starts from post eight in the seventh race Open Handicap Trot. Driver Sean McAleese will drive Foley Hall for the first time.

In his last three wins the son of Victory Dream has shown the ability to win from both on and off the pace. Despite his three straight wins for trainer Ettore Annunziate, Foley Hall has been tabbed as a 10-1 longshot in the race.

The 5-2 favorite is Ultimate Sundance from the far outside in post nine. A 15 race winner in 2004, Ultimate Sundance suffered three straight losses to world champion Chucaro Ahijuna last month and is expected to rebound on Wednesday despite the poor starting post position.

Second choice in the field is $359,000 winner Dunkster from post five. Last week Dunkster posted his first win of the year with a neck triumph in 1:56.1 for driver Tom Sells and is listed at odds of 7-2.

Other contenders in the field of nine include return winner Leave No Message (post three), U Toe The Bike (post six), Muscle Boss Vita (post two) and Midgie (post seven). Track record holder Lori Louise (post one), the lone mare in the field, and Trotting Intruder (post four) complete the field.
