Dover, DE — Dover Downs brings down the curtain on its 2007-08 meet on Thursday, April 10, with four $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) finals for 3-year-old male and female trotters and pacers topping the card. In addition to the DSBF finals there are three $20,000 consolation events. First post is 5:30 p.m.

The top eight point getters in each of the four 3-year-old divisions qualified to race for a $100,000 purse.

Juanita, owned by Nanticoke Stable and breeder-driver Jim Morand is the program choice in the DSBF Filly Trot. The CR Commando lass has won 10 of her 11 lifetime races, including two-for-two this year.

The other prelim winners are Commando Queen with Vic Kirby driving for Patchel Family Stable; Basic Encounter with John Campbell at the controls; and Chris Yochim and Daryl Glazer’s Early Shirley, a winner of a non-wagering prelim with Cliff Green in the bike.

The DSBF Filly Pace final shapes up as an interesting contest. Tug River Princess, 10-for-10 in her two years of racing, drew the rail with John Campbell driving for Let It Ride Stables, Robert Cooper Stables and Jerry Silva. Jim McAuliffe’s Dover Dolly, winner of the 2-year-old final is alongside with Tim Tetrick piloting. Cosmo Madness was also an impressive prelim winner with Corey Callahan piloting. She posted her last win by 15-1/2 lengths.

Cosmo Madness is a strong contender with five wins and two seconds in seven starts this year. Corey Callahan will drive for Emma and trainer Deweese Butler. High rated Sheisaknockout, owned by Brenda Teague, is in the hands of Jim Morand. Roll The Dice Stable’s Maddie G will be driven by Tony Morgan, while Art and Andrew Stafford’s Badlands Power with Art Stafford, Jr. is another contender that won a prelim.

In the $100,000 Colt Trot, Man Of Science has won two prelims, with Brandon Givens driving the CR Commando gelding he owns with Walt Blacharski. Delbert Cain’s Aggressive Command was impressive in his victory with Les Givens driving a week ago. Arlie Tinder’s Drollinger has the best position leaving from post two with Vic Kirby.

Teague Inc.’s Big Heart and Jim Morand, with a record of six wins in seven starts this season, leads eight in the $100,000 Colt Pace. Gary and Barbara Iles’ Frog Juice was impressive in a 1:53.4 victory last week. Moosehead Jack closed strongly with Tony Morgan in another prelim win. Joe Gulotta’s Uncle Rubble and Tim Tetrick; Crystal Ball and Newman Racing Stable’s Badlands Jaden with John Campbell; and Corey Callahan-driven Dina’s Gamble also won prelims.

Four $20,000 consolations are on the card for those not qualifying for the finals.

Dover Downs thanks all those who followed the six-month season of top-flight racing. Delaware racing now moves to Harrington Raceway for its 2008 season starting on April 20. Simulcasting from North America’s harness and thoroughbred tracks continues daily at Dover from 12:00 Noon until 12:00 Midnight. There is no charge for parking or admission at Dover Downs. The 2008-09 live racing season begins on Nov. 1.
