Pompano Beach, FL — Fox Valley Mo Jo, the lone mare amongst a field of eight trotters, enjoyed a perfect pocket trip before navigating her way through an opening on the pylons to win the $6,000 featured trot at Pompano Park on Wednesday (April 25) in 1:59.3.

Fox Valley Mo Jo (#1) slips past Mighty Maori A (#2) to win the $6,000 featured trot.

Starting from post one with driver Daryl Bier at the controls, Fox Valley Mo Jo got the first call off the gate but yielded the top spot to Rt Um Jim (Andy Santeramo), who cleared the lead entering the first turn and took the field through fractions of :29.1, 1:00.2, and 1:30.1.

Rt Um Jim entered the lane with a one length advantage and retained that position through mid-stretch, when the gelding drifted out slightly when pressed by the late challenge of Mighty Maori A (Anthony Napolitano). This allowed Fox Valley Mo Jo to slip through on the inside, pushing her head in front at the wire to claim victory.

Fox Valley Mo Jo returned $9.00, $4.80, $8.80 for the win. Mighty Maori A brought in $8.80, $14.20 for second, while Rt Um Jim paid $9.40 for third.

Owned by David Schneider of Coral Springs, Fla., and trained by Fred Cohen, Fox Valley Mo Jo is a 6-year-old daughter of Vaporize, out of the Armbro Charger mare Fox Valley Carmen.

With her victory in the Wednesday feature, Fox Valley Mo Jo has improved her career record to 13 wins from 104 starts, with over $74,000 in lifetime earnings.
