EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – January 7, 2006 – Longshot Foxy Maneuver rallied for a two and a quarter length victory and lit up the tote board in the sixth race, a $35,000 condition pace, on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

The seven-year-old gelding paced the mile in 1:50. He returned $60.60, $13.00 and $4.80 in his 2006 debut.

Rare Jewel [$3.00, $2.60], who cut the mile and battled with Hop Sing down the backstretch, held on for second. It was two and three-quarter lengths to Rob Roy Mattgregor [$2.80] in third.

Foxy Maneuver, driven by Brian Sears, is trained and owned by Donald Eash of Greenfield, Indiana. The 39th victory of his career pushed Foxy Maneuver’s earnings to $701,861. He has finished in-the-money in 69 of 119 starts.

“Foxy Maneuver is the best horse I’ve had,” said Eash, who is racing at the Meadowlands for the first time this winter. “There isn’t anything that stands out about him. He’s just very consistent every race.”
