Saratoga Springs, NY — With the bulk of the New York Sire Stakes season behind us at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway, there are still some Late Closers as part of the the NYSS to come and Sunday afternoon (Sept. 20) featured three divisions of the 2-year-old filly pace.

Notoriety Hanover edged Lightning Madison by a nose in their Late Closer race.

Two of the three divisions were contested as non-betting events before the normally scheduled 13-race card. Driver Billy Dobson was in town for the Late Closers and teamed up with trainer Ed Hart for wins in both non-betting events.

Rock N Amber came on late to win the first, scoring in a career best 2:00.1, while Kash Delight grinded out a first-over win in 1:58.3 in the second Late Closer of the day.

The third Late Closer was the seventh race on the wagering portion of the Sunday matinee card. It was local filly Notoriety Hanover who held on while on the front end. Jim Devaux was at the lines for trainer Glenn Raia as the Artiscape filly recorded her third consecutive win in Late Closer competition, hanging on in 2:01.1.

Live racing continues on Thursday night (Sept. 24) with a 7:05 p.m. first post.
