Frosh trotters featured in NJ Futurities

Manalapan, NJ — Eleven 2-year-old trotters will go postward on Wednesday, September 2, in a pair of New Jersey Futurities at Freehold Raceway.

Four colts, one gelding and one filly will face off in the first division, the first race, vying for a $25,250 purse. Three colts, one gelding and one filly will meet in the third race, which carries a purse of $24,750.

Installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite in the first division, Upfront Pattys Boy, a son of Windsong’s Legacy, has two wins, a second and a third in five starts, taking a mark of 1:59.2 in his last outing at Vernon Downs. Jason Bartlett will drive the Mark Ford-trainee who leaves from the rail. Upfront Pattys Boy races in the name of Ed Mullinax.

Jetblue Volo, a son of Yankee Glide, is the 8-5 morning line choice from post five in the second division. Anette Lorentzon trains the Kentuckiana Racing Stable’s homebred and Andy Miller has the call to drive. Jetblue Volo posted a record of 1:58 with his only win at the Meadowlands on August 6.
