Gisser’s Picks: May 25 Nfld

by Keith Gisser

Keith Gisser offers his picks for the $10,000 Pick-4 at Northfield Park on May 25, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program.

Northfield Park Pick 4, Races 8-11, Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Monday results: The good news is that the Pick 4 paid over $4,500. The bad news is that we did not have it. Hit the first two legs, didn’t go deep enough in the third and had a “non-figure” win the 4th leg at 10-1. That pushes us into minus numbers since the program has begun. We’ll try to do better tonight.

$1 play: 156/4569/8/1369=$48

Analysis:

Race 8: Pretty wide open here. 5) Be Bop Beauty will be favored, but I like 1)Scooter In Motion a bit and 6) Askpedia can’t be dismissed.

Race 9: 9)Clayton Delaney has the back class, but it’s a first start back off a layoff. 4) Rose run Freddie is racing better over his last few, as is Call Me Merkle. 6)Yesternite is a breaker who could upset the apple cart with a flat mile

Race 10: A very risky single in 8) S F Dynamite, but Stahl chose him over the 1 (and the 6). Has been competitive in what is really “beyond category” races and shows the good local qualifier.

Race 11: Gonna spread out again in a wide-open race. Don’t really like 6) Ge’s Gilmour- Delaware horses tend to be failures in their Northfield debuts, but there are a lot of question marks. Will 9)S F Stampede show interest if not on top, what will Swartz do with 1)Cousin Mikey. And so it goes.
