Good Bad Or Best scores in California

from Cal-Expo Raceway

Sacramento, CA — Good Bad Or Best ($10.60), given a clever drive by Rick Kuebler, was able to nail the pocket-sitting Eaton Possum at the wire for the win in Cal Expo’s feature pace on Saturday night, April 30.

Rocky Stidham drove Eaton Possum out of the gate and took the lead in this event for conditioned horses with $40,000 claimers also eligible. Rick Plano sat second with Jersey Bouncer, but just past the opening quarter Plano brushed him to the top.

Kuebler then sat third with Good Bad Or Best, content with his spot until Chip Lackey tipped Leavnona Jateplane out first over. Kuebler followed that cover with Good Bad Or Best until they straightened out in the drive for home. He then came off that cover and attacked on the outside.

With an eighth of a mile to race Jersey Bouncer drifted out and that allowed Eaton Possum to get through inside and then take the lead.

Eaton Possum just did fail to hang on as Good Bad Or Best swept by for the win by a head in 1:54 flat. Jersey Bouncer held third.

The elusive Mark Anderson and Debbie McCarthy own the five-year-old Cambest gelding, out of the Armbro Alert dam Sister Alert. This was his third win in a row and his fifth in 17 starts this year.
