Green Dot won six of 13 last season and looked sharp this morning in winning a qualifying race at The Meadows.

The $26,000 yearling purchase from the Harrisburg sale is trained by Steve Bush. Dave Palone guided the son of S J’s Photo to an easy victory in 1:59, as he did in four of his wins from last year.

Saddled with the rail in the morning qualifier, Palone got away second behind Paco Spur and Richard Stillings. After settling in, Palone made his move and put Green Dot on the lead before the half-mile marker, which was reached in 1:00.1. Without any urging, Green Dot went on to win by open lengths and trotted his final quarter in :28.2.

A multiple stakes winner at two, including a division of the Bluegrass at Lexington’s Red Mile and the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes Final at Pocono, Green Dot is well on his way to a successful three-year-old campaign.
