“Green Mile” highlights closing day at Indiana Downs

Shelbyville, Indiana – Closing Day at Indiana Downs will be worth watching as one final turf race will be offered on the card. The $20,000 Indiana Sired “Green Mile Invitational” will held be on the seven-furlong turf course Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 3:05 EST. Along with the 2006 Breeder’s Cup simulcast live from Churchill Downs, Indiana Downs live race card will start at 12:55.
Indiana Downs made history last year with their first harness race on the turf course. This year (Oct 10th) Indiana Downs carded two “Green Mile Invitational” races. The winners posted times of 2:08.3 and 2:10.1. This Saturday a field of nine will line up on the grass with Universal Star as the 5-2 morning line favorite with Andy Shetler in the bike.
