Northfield, OH — Northfield’s leading driver (and 2003 teamster champ) Greg Grismore had seven winners on the Monday evening card, after posting one win at Scioto Downs in Sires Stakes action on Monday afternoon.

Grismore rushed back up I-71 to I-271 and arrived in time to pilot favored Townline Power to victory in the second race. He also won with trotters Cable Gram and Dark Scene, as well as pacers Tommys Pistol, Four Starzzzz Dds and My Fella, before sweeping the nightcap with Big Guy Osborne. Three of Grismore’s winners were favorites and mutuels ranged from $3.00 (Townline Power) to $11.00.

Dean Davis’ world champion Dunkster made it three in a row over the Flying Turns on Monday night, easily winning the $6,500 Open Trot in gate-to-wire fashion in 1:573.

Trainer Kurt Sugg drove the five-year-old Striking Sahbra gelding to the win. He alertly left from his assigned outside post and after a brief duel with Glory Bound took control, posting fractions of :272, :572 and 1:263 before posting a leisurely :31 final panel to beat Glory Bound by open lengths in a race that saw little outside flow. Kami’s Call ducked into the passing lane for the show spot.

Dunkster won for the fifth time in 14 seasonal starts as he pushed his 2004 bankroll to $57,050 and his career earnings to $213,159.
