Harness Night School session: ‘Intra-Race Wagering’

from Horse Player NOW

Chicago, IL — Harness Night School, the racing industry’s national online fan education program dedicated to the Standardbred set, offers a 12th session Thursday (Oct. 4) at 7 p.m. (EDT), with a focus on “Intra-Race Wagering.”

Harness Night School is FREE to all users. Set a reminder for Thursday’s session, and enter the chat room here.

During the course of Harness Night School, hosts and panelists have discussed handicapping angles in various categories that lead them to live horses, and winners. In Thursday’s fan education chat, they will offer Intra-Race (betting within the race) wagering strategies — win, place, show, exacta, trifecta and superfecta.

Previous guest chat panelists Derick Giwner and Bob Pandolfo return for this session.

Derick Giwner serves as Managing Editor of the Harness Racing division of Daily Racing Form. He currently oversees the DRF Harness Eye and Daily Harness Program print products, the www.drf.com/harness section of the www.DRF.com website, and manages the DRF Harness Twitter and Facebook pages. He has worked for Sports Eye/Harness Eye since 1996 and has served as editor of the paper since 2005. He has worn many hats in the industry, including serving as a writer, handicapper, horse owner, amateur driver, track announcer and chart-caller. In addition to serving as a chat panelist, Giwner will also present topical insights via video.

Bob Pandolfo, aka “Pandy,” has been a racing writer and handicapper for nearly 30 years. His popular “Pandycapping” column has appeared in many publications, including Daily Racing Form, and Sports Eye. He has also been published in Hoof Beats magazine, American Turf Monthly, and other publications.

The interactive chat program will be hosted by T.J. Burkett, executive editor of Hoof Beats, the official magazine of the USTA, and Tom Kelley, director of publicity and handicapper for Balmoral Park and Maywood Park.
