Harrington, DE — Harrington Raceway will open for its 64th season of live racing Sunday (April 19) with a new post time of 5:15 p.m.

Harrington will operate live racing on a Sunday through Thursday schedule through July 2. There will be one day of live racing during the Delaware State Fair on July 30, before the regular schedule resumes on August 16 through October 29.

As is customary for opening night, there will be a hat giveaway (while supplies last) beginning at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, which will be accompanied by a family fun day, including pony rides and face painting. A well-known Lone Ranger impersonator will be available for pictures in the grandstand.

The track will also hold a contest every Monday for a $100 gas card.

Harrington’s 2008 leading driver, Tony Morgan, and leading trainer, Tim Crissman, will be back in action along with many other top drivers and trainers. Morgan is approaching his 13,000th career win and would join an exclusive club that includes only Herve Filion and Cat Manzi. Pennsylvania driving champion Dave Palone, who has 12,974 wins, is also approaching the milestone.

Several other driver milestones are within reach for the Harrington meet including the 1,000 win mark for drivers Corey Callahan and Brandon Givens. Jim Morand, who recently scored a 13-1 upset with George Teague-trained Frog Juice in an $85,000 leg of the Classic Series on April 6 at Dover Downs, is approaching 8,000 career wins.

Harrington’s signature event, the Bobby Quillen Memorial Pace, will hold elimations on October 19 and the final on October 26.
