Hofstra University Hosts New Owner Class

Hofstra University on Long Island will host a two day class on February 5 and 6, covering a variety of topics of interest to the person considering first time purchase of a racehorse.

The class will cover topics common to both Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing, such as licensing, acquisition of the horse, hiring a trainer, insurance, tax issues and training expenses. It is taught by Chris Wittstruck, an attorney who owns both Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds.

The class runs from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on February 5 and 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on February 6. Tuition is $175. For more information or to sign up, call 516-463-5993.
