Pompano Beach, Florida – February 8, 2004 – ICU Jessie goes for his 3rd straight win in the $60,000 Artsplace Pacing Series Monday at Pompano Park Harness Track.
Last week ICU Jessie scored a lifetime best 1:52.2 victory in the series and is the 8/5 favorite in the 5th race even starting from the far outside in post nine for driver Kevin Wallis.
Trained by Gordon Norris and owned by his wife Diane and Clifford Grundy of Howell, Michigan, ICU Jessie is a four-year-old gelding by Camluck with two wins in his four starts this year.
Electric’s A Flying, who was a first round winner in the series in 1:52.2, starts from post six for driver Richard Macomber, Jr. Last week they lost to ICU Jessie in the second round. Other contenders include Hearty Fellow (post 8) and It’s The Paper Boy (post 5) who has finished third in the first two rounds.
The top nine point earners after Monday’s third preliminary round, return next Monday, February 16 for the $20,000 added final.
On Tuesday is the post position draw for opening round of the $125,000 Mack Lobell Trotting Series with the opening round draw for the $250,000 Isle of Capri Pacing Series on Wednesday.
