Invader Hall back on track

DOVER, Del. —- Invader Hall scored his fourth win in five starts notching a 1:54 victory in the Saturday, Jan. 17 feature race with intermittent snow flurries at Dover Downs.
Driven by Jim Morand, Invader Hall made best use of starting from the rail by taking the early lead and holding it the rest of the way to win the $25,000 Claiming Pace, staving off a late rally by Watch Hill (Brad Hanners). Artdotcam (Eddie Davis Jr.) finished third in the field of nine starters.
Morand came right back in the next race with a similar style victory guiding Janice and Scott Nichol’s Fernbank Franny to a 1:57 success in a $7,500 Filly and Mare Pace. The three-year-old Jate Lobell distaff won by only a long nose as Physical Favours N (Steve Warrington) tore down the lane to just miss. Gabrielle Franco N (Greg Callahan) was third.
Armbro Wallstreet showed late speed for Ricky Still coming on for a 1:57.1 victory in a $12,500 Delaware Claiming Pace. Doctor Bond (Eddie Davis Jr.) held the lead in the stretch until the final two steps. Makeyourownluck A (Brad Hanners) led early and finished third.
Eddie Dennis steered Locanda’s Mac N, owned by Jeff, David Clark and Peter Pappas home in 1:58.4 to win a $12,500 Claiming Allowance. Mic Mac Corey (Jim King Jr.) closed with a rush to finish second. Deliberdeloot (Ross Wolfenden) was the show finisher.
Steve Warrington collected a consecutive race driving double. Ed and Ethel’s Mr. Taylor Made N scored a 1:56.4 win in a $7,500 Delaware Claiming Pace. Warrington piloted I Give Up to his maiden victory in 1:58.4 taking a $4,500 pace.
Ross Wolfenden also won back-to-back events. Western Genius, owned by Bill Sink and Bob Nibblett took a $5,300 Delaware Pace in 1:56.4. In the next race Wolfenden drove the three-year-old filly Basket Of Flowers in a 1:58.4 win in a $7,000 Filly and Mare Pace.
