Invincible Dream wins Coaching Club; Village Jolt upsets in Goshen Cup

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – July 1, 2004 -Invincible Dream [$22.40, $8.80, $4.80], driven by Mike Lachance, moved to the lead on the backstretch and held on for victory in the $89,372 Coaching Club Trotting Oaks on Thursday night at the Meadowlands.

The Coaching Club Trotting Oaks for three-year-old trotting fillies, carded as the third, and the Goshen Cup for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings, the fourth race, are part of the Historic Week stakes at the Meadowlands.

Invincible Dream won by neck over Rant N Rave [$3.80, $2.40] who was drifting on the outside. Ladylind [$2.80], locked in the two hole, got up for third, a length back.

Invincible Dream trotted the mile in 1:55.1, a personal best, for her first win in three starts this year and third win in 11 career outings.

Trained by Jimmy Takter, the daughter of Conway Hall is owned by the 50-12 Stable LLC of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for whom she doubled her earnings to $89,096.

Longshot Village Jolt [$56.80, $18.60, $14.60], with Ron Pierce driving, followed covered into the stretch, tipped out in the final 70 yards and got up for a half-length victory over 3-2 co-favorite Eleven AM [$2.80, $2.60], who edged out Four Starz Prince [$7.20] in third.

Village Jolt, trained by Ed Hart, paced the mile in 1:53.3 in his pari-mutuel debut. The two-year-old son of Cam’s Card Shark had a win and two seconds in baby races. He was purchased as a yearling by Jeffrey Snyder of New York City for $50,000 at the Harrisburg Sale and now has earnings of $59,800.
