Isle of Capri, Mack Lobell preview divisions set

Pompano Beach, Florida – February 3, 2005 – Pompano Park‘s biggest month of racing gets underway Saturday with three preview divisions for the $250,000 Isle of Capri Pacing Series and the $125,000 Mack Lobell Trotting Series.

There are two division of the Isle Pace Preview and one division of the Mack Lobell Preview. Each Preview division races for a purse of $15,000.

Santastic’s Pan, a $169,000 winner last year, heads the 5th race first division of the Isle Pace Preview. He starts from post four for driver Joe Pavia, Jr. and prepped for the Preview with a 1:52.4 qualifying win last week.

Also entered are Artiology (post 1), Copeland Comet (post 2), Hot Rum (post 3), No Parole A (post 5), Hearty Fellow (post 6), Srixon (post 7) and Ignite My Fire (post 8).

Our Galvinator A, who has won the Open Pace at Pompano Park his past two starts with identical clockings of 1:52.3, heads the 9th race second Isle Preview division from post four and will be driven by Joe Pavia, Jr. That division also features $695,000 career winner Daylon Trooper from post five and $452,000 winner Quarter Carat (post 1).

Others entered are He Wants It All (post 2), Hipeka A (post 3), Maltese Artist (post 6), Tarver Hanover (post 7) and Chewy Gross (post 8).

The 8th race Mack Lobell Series Preview features 11 starters including world and track record holder Chucaro Ahijuna (post 1), track record holder Damon Runyon (post 10) and $477,000 career winner Hellava Hush (post 4).

Also entered are Make It Hot (post 6), Sweet Count (post 2), Dunkster (post 4), Bubba Dunn (post 5), Hunt M Down (post 7), Guy Gets Girl (post 8), Muscle Boss Vita (post 9) and Ultimate Sundance (post 11).

Friday’s first race feature is the $8,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace headed by Barbara Noble Lady (post 2), ICU Miss (post 4) and S F Misty (post 4).

Arcadia Publishing’s newest book, “Images of America – Pompano Park Harness Track” debuts Friday and Saturday at Pompano Park with a special book signing by award-winning author Frank J. Cavaioli. The book features more than 200 classic photos from the 1920’s through 2004. The book signing will take place at the track Gift Shop from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm each night.

Also on Friday there will be a live radio broadcast trackside with Majic 102.7 fm. DJ Vance Phillips will be playing requests and giving away free pulls on the Majic slot machine for patrons to win prizes. The broadcast takes place from 7 pm to midnight.
