Jack’s Pride to try his luck at Rosecroft

by Daina Kazmaier, Rosecroft Publicity Office

Ft. Washington, MD — Jack’s Pride will attempt to earn his first pari-mutuel win as the 3-1 morning line choice at Rosecroft Raceway on Saturday (November 10) in a non-winners of one pace for a purse of $3,000.

The 3-year-old Blissfull Hall gelding has been competing on the fair circuit in Pennsylvania and Maryland, showing confidence with each mile. Trained by Lloyd Lambert, Jack’s Pride drew the rail position in the field of eight freshman and sophomore pacers. The gelding shows two wins at the Frederick Fair back in September, both in 2:05. Thelma Furr and Linda Rae Lambert co-own Jack’s Pride.

James Lyon Hall, racing on lasix for the first time, will open on the board at 4-1 odds. The 3-year-old Blissfull Hall colt will also race on the Rosecroft oval for the first time. Owned by June Baird, James Lyon Hall had been competing in the maiden races at Indiana Downs with some success. Kelly Staten will drive for trainer Leon Harris.

Rounding out the field are Ollie (Jerry Nock, 10-1), Little Miss Brooks (Frank Milby, 6-1), Johnny Absolut (Victor Kirby, 5-1), Maddicino Girl (David Hill III, 5-1), Moody’s Magic (Brian Burton, 6-1) and Circle M Sweetie (Corey Braden, 5-1).

The top-level pace for fillies and mares is also scheduled, and Gorgeous Lover is the 3-1 early favorite from the rail. Set to be driven by Corey Baden, the 6-year-old Real Artist mare was a winner on November 4 at Colonial Downs in 1:53.4. Manley Brown, Jr. trains the winner of over $175,000 for owner Heather Ronay.

Post time for Saturday’s 11-race card is 7:20 p.m.
